Zbrush to maya

#1

Hello friends,

I have created a model using Zspheres in Zbrush and now i want to import it to maya. I have tried to export. But there is only 4 types (PSD, TIF, JPG, BMP). There is no any format of a 3D Model. I just want to know how can I get that model into MAYA ? Im very new to zbrush. Can someone tell me how can i do this step by step…

Thank you !

Looks like you were trying to export normal maps, or something of the sort.

under the tool pallet
when the zsphere is in preview mode chose tool>make polymesh 3D
and export under TOOL>EXPORT as a .OBJ

I think you have tried exporting out the document not the zTool. The way zbrush handles saving and exporting is a bit odd. You can save a document, project, or zTool, and export documents and zTools. As informerman said, you can also export zTools to .Obj, or even .ma. Just to clarify what he said, make sure you have your zsphere in preview mode by pressing A, then either make polymesh3d, or click “make adaptive skin” under the adaptive skin submenu of the tool menu. You can then export to .ma or .Obj to be imported into maya.
