ZBrush to Maya - Bump ??

#1

Hi guys. I’m just working on a project, trying to make a realistic human head. I started the model on Maya, then send it to Zbrush 3.5, where i adjust some things and used some features for the texture map (so, that way i didn’t need to use Maya’s ‘UV texture editor’).
Everything was going perfect, 'till i tried to put some BUMP on my head’s material (on Maya). The Bump Mapping it’s already in use with something called “ZBrushNormalMap”, wich is linked to a File. Here u got some images.

ZBRUSH
MAYA
Material Attributes
Bump linked
Bump file created

So, i tried to modify that file, but if i change it, my Head’s color it’s almost out. Looks like B&W… I wanted to use the Bump for the Skin (wrinkles and pores). What can i do??? Any other idea? or how to solve that?
Thanks

From looking at the settings in Maya you might want to try and change the setting of the normal map to tangent space normal that might solve your problem. Also when you bring the normal from z-brush is it being exported as 32-bit file or 24-bit because 32-bit saves info that also carries alpha info and if the image is turning black and white that might be the problem, I am no professional but from what I could gather from your post those might be good places to start if you could post more info, I would be more than happy to try and help you figure out a viable solution for your problem. Best of luck.

Woow… thank you so much for anwsering. I’ll try what you told me and then I’ll tell you how did I do. As you see I’m a begginer and sometimes I don’t know what info I have to show, but I guess that if I inform you of the results I got, We’ll get to a solution.
