this is the image i am using

and this is the result when i project

any help?

It appears that your problem might center around you having a very distinct alpha selected in your alpha palate. If you turn your alpha off you should get much better results.

#4

thanks for the reply and can you give me more information cause i am kind of a newbie

#5

look on the left the third icon down (alpha)
click it then it has a option to turn it off.
you need to subdivide the mesh a few more times all so

#6

i turn it off and subdivide it 3 time but still the same

Have you watched the videos on spotlight in the Zclassroom?

http://pixologic.com/zclassroom/homeroom/lesson/spotlight/

They should be able to answer all of your questions.

#8

yes i watched all videos include youtube videos and it seems really easy but i don’t know what’s the problem here.

You probably just need to subdivide a few more times. The image you posted just looks like your model is still too low in polygon density.

What you are doing is projecting texture from the photo onto your models vertices. This is also called polypainting. Your model needs to have enough vertices to hold the information that you are projecting. For most models this is at least 1 million polys. If you can subdivide even higher, I would suggest you do so. The more polys you have on your model, the more texture detail (through polypainting) and sculpting detail it can hold.

Also, You should not have an alpha (3rd square down on the left) or a texture loaded (4th square down on the left) when you are using spotlight and projecting the detail onto your model. Both of those icons should be blank

polypaint with No UV and retry

#11

i made a angy 3d model and i did uving and export obj format (just like i watch in online tutorials)
open in zbrush with subdivided 4 time

i add image to spotlight , colorize polypaint , click only rgb

and that’s what i got

#12

on the last pic are you saying the problem is the skin/texture color is not showing up?
try changing do a different material instead of the red one your using

#13

thanks informerman and yes it was material problem. I’ve been told that but i don’t know why these tutorials doesn’t show these steps. now i am gonna export that to maya. wish me luck
and thanks for everybody
