Zbrush smooth help

Hey so I was working on a mesh from zspheres, every tool has been working great, especially the smooth tool, then all of a sudden every time I try and use the smooth tool it adds a whole bunch sharp edges to my project!? I am at subD 5, and everything was working fine then all of a sudden…

The picture attached shows the sharp edges around the middle of the mesh and that is the smooth tool, doing the opposite…/Users/BubbaSpartans/Desktop/Screen Shot 2013-08-10 at 4.07.15 PM.png
