zbrush > obj > max problem

been having a hard time with getting sizable .obj files into max. I am thinking that this has something to do with a vertex scaling issue? does anyone else share this problem or have found an import pipeline that can get around this? (still want to use max to bake down ambient occlusion, normal and other passes)
