zbrush and XSI?

#1

I want to import ZBrush models into XSI to use in stills. Which is better: to paint the model in ZBrush… or, import the unpainted model into XSI and paint it using the Bodypaint plugin for XSI? I ask because I wonder if Bodypaint would choke on the dense ZBrush model, as opposed to painting it in ZBrush and exporting it to XSI and forget about the Bodypaint plugin.

I have limited knowledge about this stuff so far and wouldn’t trust my attempts with demos, hence my questions here before I buy anything.

Thanks.

There is a third option- render out simple passes in XSI of the model with different textures and then paint those in as layer masks etc. in PS. Depending on what you’re doing, and your skill level with painting and comp work, this can be a fast way to work…

Also- XSI has tools that let you transfer your low poly textures over to a high poly model.

Yikes, don’t follow you due to my inexperience. Is there a thread or tutorial elsewhere about this third way? And, of the two methods I mentioned, which is easier/better?
