z-depth pass on maya fur?

Hi Everyone, im just new in 3D render passes. i had modeled a garden scene using Fur as grass.
then i want to apply a render layer separately beauty pass, AO, specular, diffuse but im having trouble with this depth pass(luminance depth preset). it should look like a gray-scale image but it just rendered as normal grass(green).

any answers are appreciated. thanks. :slight_smile:

Did you make sure that the camera is also included in that render layer? Zdepth will use the distance from the camera to make the map. Since they have redone the render passes, I am not the best person to ask. I still need to go in and learn the new workflow.

Also make sure you have selected to make depth passes in the common tab of your render settings.
