Z depth help

#1

I really not to sure how to go about using Z depth in my scene. I not getting the effect i want with depth of field, mainly keeping the sword in focus.

I have followed the tutorial on video copilot, I still can’t get to work correctly.

What do you hope to gain by just combining your images? Your depth pass needs to be fed into a special filter like Lensblur to do it’s magic by choosing it in the effect’s internal controls as reference input. That aside, your depth pass needs to be pre-composed together with a black solid (or a dark grey one representing the farthest away value in the depth map). You have transparent areas, which in any good DOF plug-in registers as “undefined” and thus causes edge bleed…
