Personally I got both a bunch of DigiTuts and the Mastermind one. DT are usually good but Mastermind really is what you’re looking for, and it’s in a class on its own: concise, clear and covers all the topics you need. As somebody pointed out there are a few free resources too, see softimage.net:

I hope this helps.

For serious rigging, check out http://3dquakers.com

More is coming soon!

cool, however i tried buying “Muscle Simulation 2” from that place, and was told it was coming soon,…

…um, that was 3 years ago,…
anyways, could be something,…

I decided not to release that title Erik, but there are still plenty of existing titles to choose from.

I have had a good experience with 3dquakers tutorials

no hard feelings
i’m happy people are making XSi tutorials

Also keep an eye for the advanced rigging tutorials vol 1-4 from 3dtutorial - soon to be downloadable from here for free: http://www.redi-vivus.com/

You may be waiting quite a while for them though, so I’d go for the 3dmastermind DVD until then. I went from not knowing anything about rigging to feeling quite confident I could deal with quite a lot of rigging situations from watching that.

3Dmastermind is

XSIBase also has a thread which sings its praises.

My advice is get aquainted with XSi rigging tools and workflows by following the Tutorials already posted. Then for really advanced and amazing rigging information get some Advanced Maya Rigging tutorials and extract the information shown on those so you can apply the same principles on Xsi:

Fast Animation Rigs is an oldy but still very usefull, the others are a lot more advanced and show how to rig in a more toony way that are required for today non realistic character work, dont know how easy it is to still buy them, since Jason stuff was sold on the Alias store.

Also remember that Advanced Rigs require some sort of Code/Expressions underneath to make them shine.

Happy rigging
