XL1 settings in Combustion

#1

Hi,

I’m a student trying out Combustion (and loving it of course) and i would like to experiment with life action combined with 3d composites. Can anyone tell me how to use the camera controls to match them with the camera I used to get the footage with? I suppose I should check the specs of the camera but I don’t understand how to translate these to the combustion camera.

Greets,

Alain

You need to use a matchmover software package in order to get a 3d camera movement that matches your real camera. I have a list of matchmovers here:

Ok thnx.

But I can imagine with a simple movement like just a rotation of the camera or a perfectly straight forward movement, that i would just need to get the perspective right in combustion. Would it then still be necessary to a matchmover prog? I guessed with a simple movement it might just be necessary to get the perspective right.

Sure, you can try that but depending the shot, it is a lot of work to match the little bumps and little eccentricities that happen when you are moving a real camera. Unless the camera was moved by a machine(motion control) and even those jiggle.
