Are you asking if XGen archive objects can be displaced from the surface? If so then yes, they can.
If you set the Arnold subdivision settings on the objects to be exported as Archives, they can be rendered as subdivided surfaces in XGen descriptions using those archive objects as those settings are used for the .ASS files used by the renderer.
