Anyone have any tips on getting the x264 codec installed in Adobe Media Encoder or on Windows in general for video output? Seems like it’s gotten harder the last couple of years.
Thanks!

Any reason you have to use the x264 codec, rather than the standard H.264 that is available in media encoder? x264 used to do a better job than many of the standard codecs, but they’ve improved so much over the recent years that I don’t think there’s much difference anymore…
We have developed some apps that our client likes to load up with animations and especially at the small transfer rate settings, like around 1, the videos get super artefacty and stuttery. We’re trying to keep them as small as possible so their field reps, and they have hundreds, don’t complain about how large the app is and continue to use it. That doesn’t happen exporting from the old QuickTime 7 with X264. H264 has improved recently (especially getting rid of the washed out look) but x264 is still superior visually and tends to make smaller videos.
