wrong working plane rotation

#1

by pressing Home over a polygon you can set work plane to it. If you’re in trackball rotation mode you can moreless navigate when rotating around the object. But when you uncheck trackball rotation (like I do) so it matches maya, its’ impossible to navigate because viewport is rotating around work plane instead of ground plane. So basically your viewport snaps to always being paralell to work plane (work plane becomes ground plane).

if it sounds weird , just try it yourself.

Is there a way to use work plane without viewport being adjusted to it?

c’mon people, nobody here uses workplane in non-trackball mode?

First, thanks you, for reminding me about the HOME key. Secondly, I was actually thinking it was broken the other way around. I like the fact that it reorients the work plane to be the XZ. To me it feels like that IS the way it should work
but it doesn’t work correctly in trackball mode. Since it reorients your front top and side views, this just feels natural to me. Actually the way I have it set up, I don’t view the world grid in the perspective view only the work plane, so I never really think about it since it’s all relative.

then we should have an option to chose from. i hate it this way, but it feels right in trackball mode (except the mode itself is what i’m not into
