workplane

#1

a comment about the workplane, it’s a powerfull add, but it’s not acting s it should, it’s just rotating the plane along the edge selected or plane or 2 connected points that actually form an edge.

but try to let the workplane follow 2 points that don’t share the same edge???it will miss the track.

to b more clear and specific, workplane should b aligned like UCS 3 point in autocad, or jettolocal in lightwave, so the concept is to select points (origin, x, and z) fire the command align plane, and that’s it, so whatever ur points are connected or not, forming an edge or not, the workplane will follow the plane constructed by these 3 points, and sure following the order, so if we choose point1, point2, point3, we result to X,O,Z, but if we choose point 3, point 2, point 1, teh result is -X,O,-Z…exactly like the simple jettolocal for lightwave do.

like i noticed in my other thread, it works different when in trackball mode and when not in trackball mode. In trackball mode when you rotate the view, it rotates according to ground plane, when not in trackball mode, the view rotates according to work plane.

Shouldn’t there be some more consistency?

yes h4sh, there is a difference btw the 2 modes, trackball or orbit.
but what i’m talking about previously is not about trackball issue or not, it’s another story, i hope that u understand it, totally different story man, and i c that it’s a really annoying and @@@ that this option is not included and that the workplane behavior in a new compacted soft is like this, but a plugin (jettolocal) developped by a individual young man, do the job better, when dealing with 3 points mode.
