Wires for Swage

#21

Good that you got it worked out. Rhino is very good at reading and writing different formats - I would be lost without it. For the most part it’s done very, very well.

I’m sure that was a pain and makes one wonder why they have to go through such hoops as that:-) One app which does everything exceptionally well and is a breeze to use…until then it seems having a good collection of them is the only way to get projects done.

I hope EI takes note of this issue and solves it in Tesla (unless of course there is already a solution in modeler we don’t know about).

I very strongly agree with Brian that usable Illustrator file import would make a world of difference and potentially explode sales.

Well despite Tesla, Animator needs is own capability to generate wires. No imported model will be able to do what Trestle can do and that is draw 2D wires inside Animator, animate them on a CV level, and use those wires with various geometry plugins (like Scrim and Swage) along with various VFX plugins like Pathfinder, Dante, Placer and so forth.

Help me to petition the Igors to continue developing Trestle. Obviously EPS import would be the biggest benefit possible, however, if the Igors do not want to bother with that, then Trestle should be given the ability to import EIM/Tesla wires directly for editing in Trestle.

Hi me again…
(for Richard, Paul and other ViaCAD users)

just checked the Tool Palette again and found the proper tool for this task. In the Polygon Tool palette the last one wich says “From Curves Polygon” Just marquee your seperated profile and it will join it. For further editing of this new polygon click on “Remove Link”. Only disadvantage with this method is that you cannot export this profile as .fac, but .dxf works.

Another not discussed possibility is to not use a modeler at all (for planar profiles)…
I instead used Canvas -> .dxf -> Transporter -> EIAS.
Have no Coral or Illustrator with me right now, but i assume they export .dxf also.

Stefan
