WIP: Heavy

#1

¡Hey! My thread was deleted :frowning:

I have been disqualified?

I posted my sketch and concept design (sept 25th) and I went on a vacation over two weeks. I have not had time to start to modeling, but I’m trying to finish this week.

Thanks to Jim Talbot for the comments about my presentation idea, I do not remember my answer for him, but I appreciate his opinions

Please, excuse my poor english but isn’t my native lenguage. I hope to get time to finish my dwarf.

Again, Heavy, my 8th dwarf:

Cheers,
Shazam3D

I’m working in the Heavy’s head. A little difficult to create a neutral facial expression, the original idea is a singing face.

An action testing, not too bad

#3

It looks pretty good to me so far. I hope you can get it finished in time.

#4

Yes, it looks very good! You don’t have to sleep this week, do you? I’d really like to see how this guy turns out.

Keep going!
Jim

#5

Thanks guys! Here’s an update on some more progress.

Now I must to sleep a little

#6

Yowzer… very nice! and you are fast:applause:

#7

Damn, nice splinage!

#8

Wow! Looks excellent! Just like your sketch. You must work good under pressure, huh?

Looking forward to seeing more progress!

Holy Moley - Heavy is in the building! So fast and so nice!!

#10

Great character! Nice sense of anatomy too. Good luck!

#11

Thanks to all for your comments, I value your feedback.

Some updates:

I was tweaking the mesh and modeling the props.
The rocker-belt was a little difficult to model, nevertheless I am satisfied by the result. I love the five cp’s patches!
I must tweak a little the splines of the face to eliminate some wrinkles. The colors are references only.

Man talk about turbo progress! What kind of coffee are you drinking?
looking great. Nice lute too.

#13

Wow! Go, man, go! He looks great. Nice details!

Jim

#14

Man I can’t believe you put all the bevelled studs in there! I agree, nice detail and beautiful lute.

#15

To model can be a fast work with a little practice but the rigging
is a concientious and very laborious work.

The textures, lights and fan bones needs adjustments but there is no time.
The next time I’ll try to make it better.

#16

Amazing that it got done so quickly and so well, too. Very nice!

Jim

Thanks Jim, a few hours later I can go to sleep satisfied, some tweaks and the final image:
