Hi, I’m doing a matte painting of a kindda cave-thingy and would like a bit of input, this is my first real crack at mp so be kind.
I’m few hours in and would really need some feedback and (positive :D) input, so here goes :

I havent given the background any real attention, so i guess thats something i have to focus on. Also im noticing that the slope in the midground (middleground?) isn’t working out to well.
Thats really what i noticing right now, but its late and i really need to get some sleepy-time done. Looking forward to reading your replies

best regards/ me

hey Johan, welcome to the forums
for your image I thing the visual composition is not good at all, you have some houses there that I guess they are your focal node, well learn about the rule of thirds, that will help you position your elements to create a good visual flow and composition,
lighting in this huge interior enviroments might be tricky, but you can cheat some big keylight just to have more details on the rock , and work better on the artificial lights coming from the houses
I suggest , learning a little bit more , look through the tutorials section inside this forums, you will find GOLD knowledge there and take a look at other matte paintings liske the one you are trying to achive, you will learn by just looking to others works and you will come up with your own technique
