will Mudbox do this?

#1

Hello all,

I’ve spent the last few days trying to figure out the right software to purchase and am wondering if Mudbox will create work such as one sees on www.3dmodelclub.com. I want to create a 3d file from 2d art. It looks like both ArtCam Pro and Vectric Aspire do this, but both are too pricey for me. Will Mudbox (or another program) create that sort of work? Easily?

I’m very proficient with Photoshop and Illustrator, and am now trying to grasp the different types of 3d software programs.

Thanks!! Cindy

if you need clean meshes you have to do this by hand…
there is no “easy” way…

I’m sure there is no easy way. I’m looking forward to learning, but wanted to start with the software that is smartest for what I want to create.

I’ve downloaded the Mudbox trial and did my first (ever) 3d tutorial last night. It was a simple and fun beginner tutorial—a (green) pepper in the book Digital Sculpting with Mudbox. At this point, I don’t know what it means to clean meshes.

I want to create bas relief work. Do you think I should just save my money for Vectric Aspire? Any other suggestions?
