WIII - 2D/3D - El-Ruco - Raj, Summoning Lord (Invoker)

So here are a couple of sketches more, plus a final illustration wip.

I thought I could add some sort of bird mascot of his, but I ended up ditching the idea. Here are some quick sketches of it.

And here's the illustration wip so far... I'll post some of my process images later - it's gone through tons of changes. Still unhappy with many elements of it. I think those front green wisps look cheesy. I'm getting to the point where blatantly wrong and horrible things pass by me unnoticed, just because I've been looking at it for so long...

so cool! I like it! ! !

Man, I just realised the composition needs a lot of work… Like I said, I don’t even see the mistakes by this point… Maybe moving him to the right a bit, and working on the depth of the piece; right now it feels awfully horizontal…

#24

I drastically changed the composition. I think it works better now. I’ll try to make it less duochromatic in the left side of the painting, and bring in more analogous colors like the other side, as well as bring some of that red up into the sky and focus on giving the robots green reflections to make the composition more cohesive.

#25

I am not sure if this works better, from left to right. I will be working mostly on polishing up the color a bit more and the robots here and there. I think I am some hours from being done.

Piero. Great sketches bro. Your anatomy rocks! I need to do some more pencil drawings :). The concept turned out quite awesome, especially the arm piece. It’s a shame you didn’t include the bird because I really liked it. It matched up so well with the figure in terms of style and design, plus I’ve never seen a bird interpreted like that. I think your color final can be improved if you give him more focus, perhaps by breaking up the clouds behind him even more and really pop out that silhouette. Also maybe use the green whisps to direct the viewer toward the main figure even more? I can see yellow green or yellow orange to add some variation to hue. Well, I wish you luck on your way to the finish line.

You are right about the bird, Sang. Here I tried to incorporate him into the piece, which I’ll know if it was a horrible idea tomorrow, after I get away from this damn image for a bit…

Great work Piero!!!wow.Love that atmosphere!
Don’t know yet neither if that bird works out well.
MAybe some more light on the bird from the green lightsource?
Some backlight on the character could make him pop out more.Just my 2 cents.
Anyway awesome work and huge atmosphere!
