Why is my rendered video losing frames/skipping frames

#1

Hi folks

I have a quick question about a problem i’m having with combustion when rendering a video+sound using DIVX 5.2 compression. I’m extremely new to combustion (started yesterday haha) well I have a video that i’m trying to rendering using combustion and everything comes out fine BUT near the beginning of the video, the movie seems to skip some frames causing a slight pause for a few seconds, which in effect screws up the timing queues for the video when audio is playing. So for example If a transition were to occur at a certain sound in the music, well after render that will be off by a couple seconds.

Anyone have any ideas as to why combustion would be doing this? A friend suggested that maybe it was dropping frames because i was low on harddrive space (which I am) but I tried deleting some stuff so that i have about 6gigs left, but still have the problem.

I would appreciate if someone could try to help me out, would like to render this video as soon as possible.

Thanks

It looks like Combustion doesnt like DivX at all. I never got good results until I render to something else then encode later in another program.
