Why have two internal hard drives?

#1

Is it to protect against viruses? Like you would have you operating system on one and your files on another? so like if you wanted to do a clean wipe when installing OS you could do that but still have your files?

or maybe its for something else. Any ideas? thanks.

I split them mostly for performance and price reasons. My OS is on a fast 250GB SSD, most apps and data on secondary and tertiary 2-4 TB drives. It is no help against viruses at all.

Ah ok cool. I was just reading about SSD’s. That seems like the best idea since your computer will boot faster when it’s on a SSD. Thanks!
