So this is my 3rd time updating my C4D R20 program. Every time i do that, for some strange reason, it causes the .exe file to be deleted and i cant open it. THIS TIME, instead of updating the program itself, i tried to download and install the content from within C4D R20 and the same thing happened. How can i avoid this? is there a safe/non-time consuming way to reinstall the programs .exe when this happens? Please help me.
Why does updating c4d causes it to delete the .exe file?!

Obviously the updater should not delete the .exe but replace it with a new version. (If the .exe disappears, how do you get it back after the updater finishes?) So this seems to be an issue with your system (and the updater working on it). You may need to contact Maxon’s service - this is most likely beyond a forum to solve.
Make sure you are running the installer as Administrator and that your account has write privileges to the application install folder.

how do i do this from within the program? the update pops up when i open the program.
You’ll need your windows user account to have admin (installation) privileges and that C4D is running as admin. If this is all happening and you are still unable to update, definitely contact Maxon.
