while modeling, do you open up every hole even though they're not visible?

Hello Everyone,
I’m wondering while you guys are modeling, do you open up every hole even though it’s not visible through the model. Such as keyboard and its keys on it. I would like to learn your opinions on this.

Well, most keyboards have cutouts in them that contain a whole “block” of keys, not individual holes. You might just want to do it like that, and just have one big, rectangular depression in the keyboard model and then put each key in that hole you just made. Hope that makes sense.

The same could go for other things as well. If I’m modeling an instrument panel, for instance, I make the panel shape, cut out a shape that all of the sub-panels fit into and extrude it back, then place each sub-panel on top of the hole with a slight gap between each one. It gives the illusion of a much more complex model, and saves you a ton of time.

Thanks Ozzman1997.

If you don’t see it, no need to model it. Its a serious waste of time that can be better spent in improving the model on other parts.

Its like giving to charity. You only do that when others see it otherwise it will be of no use…
No wait…
That might be a bad example.
