Which other forums do you attend to?

Of course I do not intend to leave or exchange CG Society, but I want to know
some other forums out there.
The ones I know already are this one and Polycount, how many others are there that you guys know?

I participate regularly on Procreate.art. It’s a nice platform for 3D artists and experts. The community is quite helpful too.

With a few exceptions, forums aren’t what they used to be. The scene used to be vastly different. 10 or 15 years ago, forums were everything. Now, while places like CGTalk & Polycount still get traffic, they’re largely overshadowed by social media platforms such as FB. The experience is not nearly as professional or in depth, but it’s where it’s at right now. Nowadays, you probably get more exposure by being in more groups and having a solid presence on ArtStation or YouTube. Forums move a shade too slow for today’s audience. It’s kind of an old fashioned experience, as these things go. Forums are still a part of the experience. They’re just not the only part of it anymore. Welcome to 2019. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s really sad. What cheers me up is the thought that forums now have more loyal people at least, I suppose.

…primarily Polycount and if needs must for either tips or a ‘sticky beak’ catchup on current events/developments, BlenderArtists, Unity and too a lesser extent ArtStation but in comparison hardly ever here, which is really sad to say, that this site is just a pale shadow of it’s former self…

So a tad harsh however practically a ‘bulliten board’ , for what passes for ‘activity’ nowadays.

There’s a lack of actual discussion on social media. Instagram and Twitter let you post a picture and a couple sentences. I’ve heard people talk how they follow such and such person as if that somehow grants them access to some kind of deep, special knowledge.

Most other forums that I’ve ever paid attention to have died off more or less or skew a little towards gaming, such as Polycount
