Which 3D software can do mechanical animation like chips production line?


One customer asked me to do this kind of animation for a machine that he produces:

I tried to do some by 3ds max, using a particle system, deflectors, and forces, but it seems not supporting too much, any suggesion?


if only 10K to 100K particles , 3ds max works well , but maybe very slow , more than it , houdini best choice

this is a simple example use 3ds max PF system
