Where to find examples of rigging for Zootopia style models?

Hello! I’m a relatively new CG Student and am taking rigging next semester, so I’m brand new to rigging in general. This is also my first post, so if I’m in the wrong place, sorry!

I’m trying to get ahead on my studies, and am looking for examples of complex rigging for the face. I’m creating a Zootopia style model of my house cat. I’ve done basic rigging for the bodies of some simple doll models before, but nothing dealing with the face.

Any tutorials or advice are appreciated, but bonus points for showing me where to find behind the scenes looks at how this stuff was done. I’ve found it hard to find anything showing rigging from that movie, and I’m not sure why.

Facial rigging is very challenging and there are lots of different techniques to do it, the best available examples of facial rigging can be found on characters from online animation schools like AnimSchool (Malcolm rig) and CGTarian (Ray) which you can download from their websites, but these rigs are complex and I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect someone who’s new to rigging to be able to reproduce that sort of quality.
