I’m new to maya, after animating some objects I clicked on Render > batch Render. Yes, I’ve set the project , in a separate folder. While it’s being rendered, I can see the progress in the console, and during that time I can see the output file in the set folder, but as soon as render process is complete the file disappears.
Where does Maya save the animation (video) ?
I know that it’s saved in the images folder, and I see the file as it is being rendered, but when rendering is complete, the file disappears.
during rendering save the exact name of one of the stills, and after the folder dissapears, try searching this stil by name, maybe they dont dissapear, but they move to another place in your computer, it must be another bug, if you wish you can write a review at my bug report list for Maya 2018:
I searched the name, got nothing. I’m still new to Maya, may be spend more time learning, then I’ll consider reporting the bug
It is an strange problem, this should be very easy, after click “render sequences” in render menu a new menu appears with options, then you can choose an “alternate output file location” you select a folder in your pc and then all still will be saved in there or any folder you choose, its recomended to save stills in exr forma, it preserves everything exactly as you designed in therms of quality, colors and textures and you will need another program to render the final video, you can check your animation by using: djv_view (it´s free).
