When to begin school?

Hey guys,

I am 17 years old, almost eighteen, and am just about to begin my last year of high school (I live in Australia). I feel as though I am wasting my time going to school, because I know that I want to be a 3D Artist, and I am fairly convinced that Uni is more or less a waste of time and money. So, I am thinking about dropping out of school to join a TAFE course, which is a lower (and much cheaper) alternative to Uni, which will get me a diploma.

What are your opinions? Stay in school and go to Uni, or start ASAP and gain my diploma sooner, allowing me to focus more on my skills. It’s obvious where my opinion stands, I just would like to know yours.

I would advise you to finish high school first

Just an opinion because you asked… There is no rush. Finish High School. Working on your own projects in the meantime is a great way to ‘warm up’ and get ready for your pursuits after HS.
