you should try forum search. this has been covered before. the justification for the outrageous amounts of money required for the high-end systems is a bit shady anyway and useless to argue about. basically you’re not only buying a very capable software but also a “branded” tool. think of like a rolls-royce car is being used to present a certain image because some customers value that.
with FFI you’re cool and hip and in the spotlight. with combustion you’re on the cheap seats but you can enjoy the same show.

and toxik seems like a totally different one, aimed at what shake is being used for today.

flint - flame - inferno: all compositing software. you achieve the same results. but difference speed/power + a bit of xtra features - like their name suggests flint to flame to inferno.

toxic: is a very close COUSIN - compositing software/same results - but unlike flint/flame/inferno - you play tagteam instead of solo campaign (many people can do the same job all at once)

combustion: flint/flame/inferno’s little NEPHEW. compositing software. can achieve the same results. but still doesnt have the speed n power. (it might get there in the future)

they are all geared to a specific type of market and usage. bottom line they are all compositing softwares++
