Hey guys, I got an offer to make this type of ring, but I don’t have an idea of I should do it, like, where to begin and so. I really am looking forward to seeing any tip or instruction, thank you.

I would model it

Or in other words, your question is ways too general to give a useful answer. You basically ask for a full fledged modeling tutorial here. There is more than one possible approach, there is more than one step involved. And we don’t know what software you use. What exact problem do you have here?

I would first model the feather in flat state no matter with what method and steps, then bend it to a ring shape.

Kind regards

I would probably take the following approach:

  1. Start with a long, thin block. Almost belt-like.
  2. Using an image, displace to get that long series of curves.
  3. Make sure that your displacement is baked in and you get a 100% poly mesh.
  4. Create a secondary poly block. Almost tube-like.
  5. SubD it to smooth.
  6. Boolean add the two objects together.
  7. Create a spline in the approximate shape of the final wrap.
  8. Deform the newly merged poly object along the spline.

Off the top of my head, that’s what I’d do. More or less. I’d have to take a closer look at the image if I want to get a 1:1 dupe, but it’s not a super complex object anyway.
