I’m just wondering what everyone’s thoughts were on whether you used pre-created motion capture animations, if not, why not, and if so, what animations you’d find particularly useful?
My studio’s recently aquired an optical motion capture system, which we’re primarily intending to use for our own projects. However, we’re also looking at creating animations for general use, sold on TurboSquid or something similar, if the demand’s there.
Therefore, it’d be really interesting to find out if you guys would or do buy custom animations already, and if there are any character animations that you’d find particularly useful but currently you can’t find out there?
(We can do two-person interaction, and we’ve got contacts with martial artists and so forth for fight scenes etc if those would be useful. We’d be talking about delivering the animation in .bvh, bip or similar formats.).
