what kind of game developping software is good for educational visualization uses?

#1

hi guys,

i’m trying “blender” now, is there any better software that i could use for educational porpuse?
the problem is that i’m not so good at programming, so do you know anything like “blender” will be great, since “blender” got this problem with display card of ATI. so i can’ do things smoothly on it.
i’ve got some ideas on educational visualization, so if anyone is interested, feel free to mail me at shaneiii@sina.com thanks a lot!

Hi shaneix,

I don’t really know what are your exact goals, but have you tried Quest3D as I feel it could well be the answer you are looking for

I am afraid that, unlike in Blender, you will not be able to create your 3D models within Q3D as this is only a game/visualization engine based on DX. Although you can still use Blender to create all the 3D props/character etc… and import them into Q3D via the (.x, .lwo, .3Ds format). If I am not mistaken these can be exported by Blender. Also you could use any other (free) 3D modeler like Milkshape etc…

Yu do not need to be a programmer as the “programming” language is entirely visual just connect logical blocks/bricks (they are called Channels) together with links to achieve the desired results.

I use it myself for Architectural visualisation and other simulation projects and I know for a fact that there is a few people on the Q3D forum which uses it for educational purpose with great success.

Hope this will help you in your quest - Pun not intended

Good luck with your project
cheers!!
