I think the Internet has given us information overload, and it’s far too easy to find something cool or interesting just by browsing the web, and this is especially true if you browse websites related to your passions. But without having something to say as a creative visionary, all of that influence would just turn you into a mimic who does derivative work.
When outside influences and inspirations are overly abundant, the real key for doing unique and interesting work then, is to look inward. Who are you as a human being? What do you personally care about? What makes you happy, angry, or sad? What issues in our society and civilization do you have strong opinions about? How can you incorporate the things that have meaning to you with your own imagination? Do you even have anything to express as a creative talent, or are you just doing a lot of disposable stuff that has no actual meaning to even yourself? Why are you even creating in the first place? Just to amuse yourself? You’ve got a soul and an intellect, but are you really using them in your creative works?
Those are the things I think are far more important than searching for outside resources. No amount of other people’s excellent works will make any difference if you are just parroting what you’ve seen. What’s far more important is to find your own identity as a creative talent and then create what has meaning to you.
