Hello… im curios, what is this app… can you model with it? Obviously you can animate in it.
How is the rigging in it, whats so good about it and what is not so good about it.
Your inpput would be welcome as discreet doesnt say what i wanna hear, and if i could dl a demo i would… but i cant and im always curious about software i dont know
motionbuilder is useful for the animation part of production. for example you could use c4d for building the mesh and rigging the charater but since the mocca animation interface is so bizarre many people choose to import their character into motionbuilder to do the animation. it works for matching mocap data to these characters from c4d too. to get the animation out of motionbuilder you need the fbx-plugin. once back to c4d all your rendering and background placement can be completed.
your browser won’t allow you to download a demo? Autodesk (not discreet) has a MotionBulder PLE on their website you can download. There are also demo movies showcasing features. I’m not sure why that wouldn’t tell you what you want to hear?

Intresting, this sounds cool. Maybe i should try the PLE… and pixelmonk, paying to Download at 1 meg a buck, i want to have a good idea if its worth paying for to download.
Its just one of the lovely aspecst of having to pay 600 bucks a month for a semi ok connection and a 2 gig cap.
ouch that’s a shame you have to pay per 1mb download! Is there any way you could get a friend to download it and burn it to a disc for you?
wow, that’s shocking… so do you pay sort of… per page…for browsing? 'cause browsing is technically downloading…
There is no point in using MB unless you are doing serious mocap. Autodesk has discontinued the standard version that was friendly to keyframe animators and hobbiest. No more standard version, now only $4195!
Mocap… sounds like motion caption stuff.
But yeah, the connections in south africa is not something im willing to spend my cash on.
Going to the local internet cafe, is R1 a meg download. webpages dont count, but you need to pay by the minute of connection time.
Anycase… i geus ill leave motionbuilder to the people who knows and loves it.
