I saw Crank 2 tonight (it was crazy and I loved it!). In the VFX credits, someone was listed at 3D rotoscoping. I’m familiar with 2D rotoscoping (having done plenty!). But I’ve never heard of 3D roto. What is it?
What is 3D roto?

Not actually being in the industry myself, I can only assume its similar to 2D rotoscoping, but in 3D…Probably using multiple camera angles. It would be a manual process as opposed to motion capture. I’m sure Google could tell you more.
