What graphics card is needed to use Mudbox?

I just got the educational version of Mudbox 2011. I was pretty excited until I realized I can’t get it to work. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS. I have installed the latest driver. All I have to do is left click to use a brush and it crashes. I can’t find anything concete from Autodesk (the consumer cards are all listed as not tested or planned to be tested). Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

last time I used Mudbox it worked on a cheap 9600gt 512mb, get a better card with more ram.

Thank you. Max and Maya work fine for me but this thing is quite a beast.

i recommend a geforce 9800GT or better…
mudbox is storing the textures during painting into the Vram…
so get a card with 1gig ram or more for painting…

It needs a shader model 3 capable card. I’m not sure if the 7series is, but I know the 8 series works as I have an 8800GT.
