What does the future hold for Maya Fluids ?

#1

Its been ages still old, the very old solver…still remain untouched. Couldn’t expect more from siggraph, Thought Autodesk was listening !

#2

I remember seeing volumetric sims in the initial disclosure of Bifrost but they haven’t talked about the volume side since.
I too was hoping for more than the Foam, viscosity talk i saw on the area, a timeline would be appreciated too

so in short id say Bifrost is probably the future of volumetrics in Maya but when that happens is any ones guess

It seems like either one has to go away or fade out like it happened with classic particles & N-particles.

Future is safe but…
Autodesk Dev team will never give all in one like inside houdini bcz they also want to earn from
3ds max & softimage. Let assume if everything come in one pack then who will buy extra product.
This is my logic.

well as far as Bifrost goes they have already said it COULD be used in 3DSMax… and Softimage!?.. dont think that will be an issue anymore.

I do hope that Autodesk is committed to fixing its lackluster dynamics tool sets, feature jobs for Maya artists in FX are basically gone.
