My final year at highschool is about to end, and my once determined decision of venturing into the 3D industry has met with reality.
What I really want is to be able to create; to render both character and shape, into animation and the model itself. I didn’t start thinking specifics until about a year ago, and after investigating both international and national offers I’m more confused and frightened than before.
International studies are very expensive (I’m from Argentina), national offer seems lacking, and I’m skeptical about online courses.
I have been dipping into 2D since I heard it’s pretty important to visualize volume and flow, but to be fair I haven’t felt much progress.
So I'd really appreciate some advice from experienced artists:
Image Campus the best national option as far as I could gather, student work is on the left, it left me a bit unimpressed from whats supposed to be 3 years worth of work. (Webpage is in Spanish, translated version might have a few errors but its mostly OK)
Online courses, DT, Gnomon and others. I don’t know if I’ll be able to acquire skills through those, but I might be just too scared to try them out.
I also heard it's very important to specialize, since the big employers are looking for a specific skill and disregard the rest; but I don't have the confidence to make such a big decision yet, is it important I do so right now?
I'd be really grateful for any input as I feel like I completely lost and I need some solid ground to stand on.
