Hey guys!
I’m just wondering if there’s some mocap software that allows to use it with simple webcams, without the need to buy an extremely expensive cameras they sell at their sites.
Of course, I mean body mocap. Because anyone can create facial mocap with some pftrack or matchmover.
…and I mean, is there any software, except for iPi mocap. I tested it quite heavily and it simply doesn’t work well enough.

There’s open source stuff for the kinect, but its a little inaccurate unless you do it just right and also filter it through motionbuilder or something to smooth it out- at least, these are the only good results I’ve seen from other people. I’m working on trying it out myself.

There are actually a lot of tools out there for simple kinect motion capture. Even iPi mocap I mentioned above can work with kinect. And the guys who tested it say that it produces not so bad result.
But that’s the problem: any kinect-based mocap will produce “not so bad” result. But it won’t be production-quality, too. This is due to the kinect hardware limitations itself.
That’s why I’m trying to find webcam-based mocap system. But looks like nobody has implemented it yet…
