We would like to know your opinion
beside posting this link in the modo and xsi forum you should also consider posting this in the news forum … just to make sure
not only that but the comparison should not have been limited between the two packages
Atomman: That´s because those are the two programs we are considering at the moment for quick modeling. But of course you could also choose “other” and explain which one and why.
Thanks!

well i guess you need to read previous posts, especially the ones with most hits. people expressed their concerns and their likings in different packages. i see no reason why a program like modo should not be enough for your needs.
i talked with some friend about that argument days ago. i Think it’s all in your needs. e.g. if u need to make presentations with images and so on. obviously a soft like Modo allows you to model fast as well as XSI.
in the case you have to consider rendering for now u could for example model with Modo, but not render with a built in engine in it. seems that one is coming soon though.
So, in this case the less expensive solution if you have to quick model and render would be XSI and others could be Maya or Lw or even Blender.(free)
If u must model in nurbs a good choice are alias tools for modelling with them, but not the best for prototyping for example.
There are dedicated nurbs softwares like parasolid and others wich work in a different way, for precise Nurb modelling for prototips and pieces wich have to be produced in reality, as adviced in the other thread you posted the link.I dunno how they handle rendering though so i stop here. hope i give u some useful info.
