Way ACDSee cant recognize riff !?

Well,

I have this problem, probably a lot of people do, who are using painter, and saving as riff files. How come that ACDSee or other similar programs dont recognize riff files ???

This is very strange to me, becouse painter is there for about 10 years( am I right?),
and ACDsee can read a lots of files but not riff ?? Way ?
Is there anyone who knows some patch or upgrade or something to make ACDSee read riff files??Is this posible ??
