Vue's Internal Units

#1

Hi,

Does anyone know Vue’s default internal unit is set to? inches, feet, meters, etc? I need make sure that 3dsmax’s internal units are set the same so that when I export max objects out, it comes in the same scale into Vue.

Thanks!

Working in 7 Infinite, Vue’s internal unit is equal to 10 cm.

I find it simpler to export my models (from ArchiCAD) at a logical unit value and then scale during the ‘import object’ process in Vue (i.e. scale up by a factor of 10 when my ArchiCAD units are set to 1m)…hope that helps

Lord only knows why an internal unit of 10cm was adopted by Vue… :wip:

Yeah it’s 10cm, but, Vue imports obj models at the true scale, at least when I make/import them from Rhino, as Vue infinite/xstream uses real world units by default

I generally work in meter, both in sketchup and rhino, and always scale by 10 when importing into vue. Works like a charm:)

Vue’s internal units are 0.1m (10cm), and display in meters (well, if you set your display units in m), so 10cm=1meter on screen.
What I do in C4D is set my units in millimeter, and set 100mm=1 Vue unit, and then sizes match.
