Vue units and Max9 integration

#1

Hi my company asked me to take a look on Vue XStream to make our environments for our arch viz scenes. At first look I was very impress but with a little try, i am begin to be very disappointed.

My biggest source of frustration come from the units system in vue. We work on architectural model with real dimensions units. What I don’t like is scales my scenes and changes units for no reasons. When I ecport my max model to bring it in the vue environment, units are not proprely understand by Vue. My building who is 10m height is now 1m(and trees very big). E-On technicians seems to not have problems about scale up by 10 and scale down to re-integrate in max. So I made a try: yes my house was now back to 10m but all trees are very small.

So, Is there any solution to work with the real units, made trees with real units and NEVER use the scale tool?!

I don’t see the point to buy XStream to integrate my Max models in Vue if it’s didn’t take in consideration the very basic but essential fact that I want my units to be the same.

Most of those concerns have been fixed. What build number of the software are you using?

I am using Vue 6 XXstream and max 9

I read about the fact 1 vue units is 10cm but honnestly, it’s silly and it,s doesn’t the problem at all.

Is anybody here use Vue for architectural viisualisation? what kind of workflow can give me enough efficienty?

Help>About Vue xStream (or just watch the splash screen when you first start the program)
It will state “Version XXX Build XXXXX”

What are those numbers?

Try an update. I’m about 6 patches ahead of you (I’m using build 292350) and everything seems to be working well.

I’ll give a try

Vue with Max 9 was working great, but the upgrade to Max 2008 with Vue updates has been very problematic, to say teh least. If you do not have to upgrade, you should wait. They are saying a new build is coming next week.

However, more in line with what you are asking, the results are very nice and worth the management issues!
