Vue Newbie: problem with V6xstream slowdown

Hi all
I’ve just installed Vue 6Xstream on my Mac Intel 8 core with 8gigs ram, and I have got a seriously slow response time to mouse/pen moves- I get the spinning Beachball of Death after every move, click or selection. This happens even with an empty scene and no other big apps running.

Edit I’ve discovered the problem- I had kept the installation disc in my drive and that
was being accessed all the time before the installed programme carried out the command

Doh!
