did you license vue correctly?

I think that it could be the same problem I have…It really really drives me insane!

When I render it normally in a render window it renders it all ok, but once I BATCH render it it renders ONLY stuff from Maya, so what I guess is happening to you is that you probably have a scene with lightning from Vue and no Maya lights so its a complete dark and therefore renders black frames…

So try to put some Maya lights and see if you are still getting all frames black or is it just Maya objects and nothing else(like its happening to me).

Please let me know what is your result once you try that out.

Also, make sure you have all the latest patches for Vue 7 applied. There was a known issue before with Vue rendering DARK scenes that was fixed. Check out the bug update logs to see what I mean. This may not be your problem, but just thought i would mention.

Hey thanx HiTekJeff!
Unfortunately I installed the 7.2 update and still the same problem… :frowning:

If it might help here’s my configuration:

AMD athlon 64 dual core 4000+
1 GB DDR2 RAM 800hz
Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS

It sounds like to me it is most likely a driver issue with your video card. There has to be something there it is not liking. Have you tried to do a “clean” uninstall of your graphics card driver and re-install with the latest version of it?

Sorry I can’t help much more, but it has to be something on your end or else it would most likely be reported by now. Did you try sending in a support ticket? They are quite good I find in helping. Also, you may want to post this in their forums. When you do, be sure to be specific and post your system config along with a copy/paste of your graphics card driver specs.

Hope things work out.

Thanx a lot HiTekJeff!
My only solution for now is the front batch render mel script but then again I get the passes only from Maya scene, as well as it cant be solution for me forever, I plan to make few-PCs-renderfarm and front batch dont include network rendering :frowning: there is also one guy here, (in the topic I created about this problem(and the topic disappeared :?)), who is experiencing the SAME problem and I think I should ask him for his configuration and then if something’s the same, like graphic card, then most likely thats what could be the problem…

If I remember well I did uninstalled and reinstalled my graphic card drivers few times but I definitely didnt uninstalled it cleanly, and haven’t done it for a while maybe they updated it since the last time…so good tip  I’ll definitely give it a shot today.

EDIT:
Tried it today, no luck :frowning: absolutely the same problem
