the pdf alone is worth the read since it covers vue´s render engine and it´s little quirks.
A nice vue product for sure.
Nice site, very informative. Product looks good and reasonably priced. You have a new customer here :)…
Hi Chipp,
man, the renders look great - but the render times are incredible
these are best for still renders for sure.
just as a word of caution to those looking at the quality and thinking you can get it on the fly. Be prepared to have some patience.
I resisted using our renderfarm of 20+ machines - I wanted to see how long it would take on one machine. 2+ hours - and I was rendering on a Boxx 2.2ghz Quad machine 4 gigs of RAM, more than 2 hours for a scene at 640 by 360
and even after the render, you would still have to apply a noise reduction plugin in order for the renders to look like the ones posted.
I think thats where the archiles heel is with the Vue renderer. Quality comes at a very high render time cost.
Yes, the render times can take long, especially if you have a lot of reflective and transparent surfaces in a scene. This is one reason why a structured approach to interior renderings is imperative.
There are some ways of taking shortcuts. If you use the advanced render settings, you can tweak some of parameters responsible for lengthy rendertimes-- and using a tool like NeatImage can also help.
best,
Chipp
Hi Kevin,
Sorry, I must’ve missed your post.
Re: NeatImage, I use the default one and it seems to work pretty well. Sometimes I’ll manually adjust the settings…depending on the image.
If the image is large enough, I will let NeatImage try and sample it for me.
best,
Chipp
