Vray SP3 rendering extremely slow

#1

Is Vray SP3 rendering extremely slow for anyone else? I’m using Max 2010 and Vray 1.5 SP3 and scenes that I could render in under a minute in Max 2008 Vray SP1 are now not even rendering under an hour. Anyone know what the problem is?

If the software is not cracked I would contact there support.

Yeah, I was having the same problem with 2010 and Vray! Dunno whats the problem. Eventually I got frustrated and returned to Max9 sp2 which works like a charm.

No problems here. It renders very quick. I know some people trying to use cracked SP3 & 4 complain about it being slow, but if it’s a licensed copy with the dongle, it should be quite fast. Call them. Or upgrade to SP4…you’re entitled to the upgrade free.

Though I just got off the phone with the Cebas guy, and I think I’m going to have to buy finalrender-SP1 R3 SE next week when it’s released. It uses raytracing and scanline rendering at the same time, and it claims to operate at lightning speed. New features such as fR scatter (like vray scatter) included, and it also includes a realtime raytracing activeshade similar to vray RT, included. I bought Vray RT separate, and it is a nice program, but it has its limitations as far as what it will render. The Cebas guy said finalrender’s activeshade RT renderer will render all materials that the finalrender production renderer can render.

I Don’t Think That The Trouble Is In The Crack Issue, I Think U Should Check The Setting Part In The Render Dialog Box, U Will Find System- Default Geometry- U Will Find It Auto Change It To Dynamic… U Will Notice The Difference.

@ theoldmaster, If you dont know how vray works and how your scene works, changing it to dynamic may slow it down. Auto allows vray to make the decision on which type to use based on the face count for an object and the number of its instances in the scene.

AFAIK the cracked version of Vray will render slow and sometimes with a small watermark.

As said before, contact support if you can…
