Vray RT vraymtlwrapper

#1

Hi guys,

Im currently experimenting with vray rt and it really improves my rendering speed using the gpu. however the mtlwrapper is not available for use in gpu rendering. Though I need to comp my 3d render on a background footage. Do you guys know a compositing work around maybe? Or some other tips?

Best,
Maarten

See here:

http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3/Rendering+an+Animation+with+Moving+Objects#

Specifically the first part on compositing basics, explains how to render mattes in any render engine without using a matte material.

We’ll get to implementing the matte material itself in one of the next updates.

Best regards,
Vlado

Thank you for the great explanation. Must have missed it I guess.
Found another way my self by rendering the Car object with the Floor set to not vissible to camera. After that switch to Vray Advanced select my Car object assign basic material exclude the Car from global illumination and reflections to increase render speed. And render the Car with Floor + MultiMatteElement and then simply comp it back. However didn’t test it yet with floor reflections.

Going to try it the way you showed me now.
