VRay Maya - Unpremultiplied file output?

#1

Hi,

is it possible in VRay for Maya to save images with an unpremultiplied alpha?

I cannot find any option nor any information about that on the web.

I need the RGB channels of the rendered image to be output without antialiasing at the borders, but with an antialiased alpha channel. To be able to cleanly compose several passes in Photoshop.

This is possible in every other renderer … but in VRay I can’t find these settings.

Thanks in advance and best regards,
tom

Hi,
You can do unpremult in compositing (with photoshop or other). It is just the divide of the rgb to the alpha.

Yes, you are right. I did another web crawl and found a short tutorial about how to unpremultiply images in photoshop:

Thanks a lot!
