Vray fur doesn't like multi-threading?

Hi all

Rendering the fur on a 12-core (physical, plus 12 virtual), doesn’t matter how many threads I set in the render settings, only 100-200% ( out of 2400% ) of cpu power gets used, even though all 24 buckets show up in the render view and eventually render. The fastest renders (although a bit slow anyway) come from setting the max number of threads to 3 (out of 24), and it’s downhill from there.

Is this normal? Suggestions?
